Raissa R. Lopez, PE, SI
Raissa R. Lopez, P.E. obtained her Civil Engineer degree in La Habana, Cuba in 1990. After emigrating to the US in 1995, she acquired her Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering, and in 2003 she became a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida. Since the beginning of her professional life, she specialized in Structural Engineering and up to date has gained over 25 years of experience in the structural engineering field. Mrs. Lopez has worked in Florida and Nevada, and has reciprocated her professional license in 9 other states, including Massachusetts, Ohio, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Baltimore to perform projects in those states.
The expertise of Mrs. Lopez ranges from new construction for commercial, residential, educational facilities and marine projects, to remodeling and renovations projects for the public and private sector. Her engineering skills cover structural designs for reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, timber, and aluminum, as well as preparation of specifications, construction project management, periodic site visits and structural inspections, including inspections for Threshold Buildings.
Mrs. Lopez is also very involved in the managerial side of the business, managing clients, educating employees, and employing marketing tactics for growing the business.
Gonzalo Paz, PE
Gonzalo Paz, P.E. graduated in La Habana, Cuba as a Civil Engineer in 1989. He first emigrated to Spain in 1995 and worked as an Engineer on Bridges and Roads in Galicia. In 1999 he emigrated to the US and immediately acquired his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He obtained his Professional Engineer license in the State of Florida in 2004. Gonzalo has over 25 years of experience as a Civil / Structural Engineer. His vast experience includes performing structural analysis and design of buildings and their components in a wide variety of structural materials and systems, such as reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood, aluminum, and structural glass.
Mr. Paz’s Civil Engineering experience includes the preparation of utility relocation plans, paving, drainage and stripping design. Mr. Paz also has extensive experience performing construction administration and inspections during construction, as well as structural inspections to assess conditions at existing buildings.
Gonzalo has a broad background in all aspects of engineering, in both the private and public sectors. He is constantly sharing his expertise and oversees almost every project designed in the company. Gonzalo’s unique personality is a strength to the company due to his extensive knowledge and constant creative capacity.
Fernando Torres graduated in La Habana, Cuba as a Civil Engineer in 1989. After arriving to the US in 1993, he soon acquired his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and since then has worked as a Civil Project Engineer in Florida and Nevada. Since the establishment of Eastern Engineering Group in 2005, he has primarily focused on the managerial side of the business, including logistics, business operations, client management, marketing strategies, company finances, and managing of personnel. He has also developed an administrative software for the A/E industry (PASconcept) for implementation in Eastern Engineering Group, as well as other companies in the industry.
His experience in the development of PASconcept made him go after the software development industry and in 2014 created Axzes, a software design company to assist businesses in improving their managerial processes. He is currently actively working with both companies.
Mario Morales, EI
Mario Morales, E.I. obtained his Civil Engineer degree in La Habana, Cuba in 1997. After immigrating to the US in 2006, he received his Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering, and in 2013 he became an Engineer in Training. He has specialized in Structural Engineering, garnering over 19 years of experience in the structural engineering field having worked in Cuba, Switzerland and Florida.
Mario’s expertise ranges from new construction for commercial, residential, educational facilities and marine projects, to remodeling and renovations projects for the public and private sector. His engineering skills include structural designs for reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, timber, and aluminum, preparation of specifications, construction project management, periodic site visits and structural inspections, including Threshold Building inspections.
Alexis Martinez, PE
As the Head of the Structural Engineering Department, Mr. Martinez descends from a family of life-long structural engineers. He completed his Bachelor’s degree from Florida International University specializing in structural engineering in the Fall of 2010 and immediately began working on low-rise structures as part of his training. While also working full-time, he embarked on his Master’s degree in Structures, simultaneously achieving hands-on experience with a substantial degree of theoretical background and in-depth knowledge of the structural mechanics of construction materials. By the time he completed his Master’s degree in 2014, he had already designed a dozen of low and mid-rise buildings in South Florida of varying structural complexity. He leads the structural department by showing exceptional leadership skills, providing creative structural solutions that are cost-effective and conscious about ease of construction.
